More than 100 animals live here, including 13 with disabilities. We help with medicine, hygiene supplies, veterinary bills, and shelter improvements.

People who refuse to look away
For more than a decade, Kashtanka has rescued animals others had abandoned. Its founder, Viktoria, welcomes the most vulnerable and neglected animals, provides treatment and warmth, and gives them another chance. We have known Viktoria personally for many years and have supported the shelter and its residents for several years.
More than 100 lives in their care
More than 100 animals live at the shelter. Thirteen have disabilities and need ongoing care, diapers, absorbent pads, straw, and hygiene supplies. The shelter is sustained by Viktoria's own funds and contributions from people who care.
Compassion for every living being
Bhagavad-gītā 5.18 speaks of equal spiritual vision. Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 3.29.21–24 warns that formal worship loses its meaning when a person disregards the Lord present in the hearts of living beings.
What contributions support
Priorities include outstanding veterinary bills, medicines and veterinary supplies, diapers and hygiene products, straw, bedding, bowls, absorbent pads, and building materials. Purchases also follow the shelter's specific request that these funds not be used for meat or meat-based feed.
Honest storytelling without exploiting suffering
We show the reality of the shelter without using prolonged distressing footage to pressure people into giving. In the short video, the condition of a disabled dog appears for only a few seconds; the rest shows daily life, patient care, and the team's connection with the animals.
